Message from Dr. Alarik Arenander
Director of the Brain Research Institute
The Brain Research Institute is an interdisciplinary research center devoted to the study of the neural mechanisms of higher mental function, particularly the mechanisms of conscious experience and the evolution of higher states of consciousness. The investigation of the neural mechanisms of higher states of consciousness stems from fundamental questions about human experience critical to the understanding of the human brain and the attainment of enlightenment.
Research in this field to date has documented the availability of a complete and systematic science of consciousness, Maharishi Vedic Science and Technology. The simple, natural procedures, including Maharishi Transcendental Meditation Program and TM Sidhi Program, have been scientifically documented to fully enliven the inner intelligence of body and mind in the individual in an effortless and rapid manner.
Over 600 scientific studies conducted at more than 200 universities and research institutions in 30 countries, have shown that this increase in intelligence and creativity in the individual affects every area of life: health, education, business, personal relationships and society in general. The Brain Research Institute fosters theoretical and experimental research in the light of Maharishi Vedic Science, conducted in the following disciplines: neuroanatomy, psychophysiology, computational neuroscience, molecular neuroscience, and linguistics.
